Meet our resident Artist- Anthony K. R.

How would you describe yourself?

An artist, a chef, a nomad.

How long have you been an artist?

Ever since I can remember, I have always drawn. To an artist, drawing is a form of communication, as essential as talking and listening.

How do you work?

I am very disciplined. Before I start a project, I prepare all the materials that I will need and clear all the clutter to make enough space. Then I immerse myself into the process of bringing the interpretation of the brief into effect. I usually work consistently and finish the artwork within one or two sittings.

How long have you been part of the B & R team?

Since its inception. I was very happy to be asked to be the ‘resident artist’ for Botanique & Rye. Nature is integral in our way of life. We [as the world] need to protect the earth and plant life for our continued existence. I love eating natural organic food, so combining my interests in drawing, nature and food has been easy!

What other projects are you working on?

I am working as a full-time chef in a local health food restaurant. I don't have any time for other projects at the moment.

Where would you like to be in 5-10 years?

I am very interested in setting up a network of indigenous artists from all over the globe. Wouldn’t it be great if, for instance, we got an artist from say Nepal as an example, or anywhere else, submitting their work of indigenous health foods? I believe we should all stay interested in learning and exploring new things.
